Our Team

Michelle is our ‘go to girl’. If it needs to be done, she’s on it. She wears the title of Optician Assistant although her tasks are many. She dispenses glasses, handles all frame product entry, keeps up with inventory and verifies the accuracy of all eyewear lab orders. When need arises she will be found at the front desk, answering phones, assisting with scheduling and patient check-in. Michelle has two adorable grandchildren that she loves spending time with them.

Amber masterfully maintains order in our reception department. She will greet you upon your arrival and promptly assess your service needs. From scheduling to registration along with verifying insurance and check-out, she will efficiently process your patient data and expedite your services. She serves patients well by searching for any vision benefits that may be available. Amber has a busy schedule raising her three beautiful daughters and is now a proud grandma.

Ellen plays an important role in Texas State Optical’s service commitment to our patients. Her background in medical billing and coding give her the needed insight to maximize your vision benefits. Valued by our team as the staff’s ‘go to’ person, she is always available to help. Although known for her ‘fancy’ shoes, she manages to wear many TSO hats. Just to name a few, she is the Claims Specialist, the Internet Technologist and the Administrative Assistant.

Sarah joined our TSO Team in 2013. She works closely with Dr. Dang and Dr. Nitardy as an Optometric Assistant and Contact Lens Tech. Any required special testing procedures are performed by her efficiently and with attention to detail. During her tenure, she has worked in various departments filling in where needed. She has a vast knowledge of contact lens, manufacturer rebates and vision plans which makes her a valuable resource for patients wanting to maximize benefits.

Norine moved to Southeast Texas from Arizona in 2016 to become part of our TSO Team. She has worked in optometric practices for 6 years prior to finding a home with TSO of Nederland as an Optometric Assistant. She is a proven asset to the TSO team, as she serves patients in all aspects of the practice. She will assist in the selection of eyewear, making recommendations for lens and frames that provide the best in comfort and vision. Her desire to provide excellent patient care is evident in the tasks she performs. Norine strives for perfection. Weekends are spent enjoying fishing and hiking with her husband and German Shepherds.

Pam Housley, certified by the American Board of Opticianry since 1989, began her career with Texas State Optical in 1977. As practice manager, she continues with the same passion to uphold the TSO commitment to excellence. Her dedication to providing our patients with the best products and services is unsurpassed. Recognized as a leader in the industry, Pam has served on various committees with Texas State Optical. As part of the TSO Operations Committee, she contributed to the development of practice management and training programs. She works diligently to insure all patients receive ‘Five Star’ vision care.
